Před odstřelováním nejprve muži navrtají do skály díry, které naplní střelným prachem. Pak se musíte schovat, bude rána! Teď přišel tvůj čas. Kusy balvanů po odstřelu se musí nejprve vytáhnout z lomu pomocí jeřábu a pak naložit do sklápěcích vozíků. Musíš do nich navrtat několik děr, do kterých se strčí klíny pro rozlomení. Menší díly se pak zpracovávají na dlažební kostky pomocí speciálních strojů ve štípací dílně. Vydáváš se k lomu, kde spolu se třemi kolegy budeš zajišťovat nakládku a přepravu vytěžené žuly. Kusy balvanů je po odstřelu potřeba naložit na vozíky. Odbočujete z cesty a míříte za zámečníkem. Společně vytváříte první dva páry vylepšených dřeváků. Trochu to trvalo, takže do lomu dorážíte se zpožděním. Mistr nadává. Minulý týden vás načapal s pivem, pozdním příchodem jste si opravdu nepřilepšili. Zbytek směny vyvrtáváš díry pro střelný prach. Blíží se šestnáctá hodina, kdy máte končit. Do dílny jsou dováženy kameny o velikosti kolem 20 cm, které je potřeba rozlámat na strojích. Vyrábí se tu tři druhy dlažebních kostek. Se stroji to není jednoduché, to jsi hned zjistil. Když jsi chtěl rozštípnout jeden kámen, špatně posunutý klín ti rozdrtil palec. "Taky se mi to v prvním týdnu stalo, pak už si zvykneš." ozve se od vedlejšího stroje. Raději zůstáváš u ručního štípání, na práci s lisy se zatím necítíš. Máš tedy za úkol rozlámat bloky na takové kusy, které půjdou naložit na vozíky. Ale dnes nemáš štěstí ani při tom. Du gehst in den Steinbruch, wo du zusammen mit drei Kollegen für das Verladen und den Transport des abgebauten Granits verantwortlich bist. Nach der Sprengung müssen die Felsbrocken auf Lastwagen aufgeladen werden. Du möchtest lieber mit der Hand spalten, du hast noch keine Lust, mit Pressen zu arbeiten. Deine Aufgabe ist es also, die Blöcke in Stücke zu brechen, die auf die Wagen geladen werden können.
